Google Enterprise Gmail gets a Gartner boost

This is an interesting article from Gartner on how Google’s Enterprise Gmail has experienced growth and others such as Lotus Notes and Groupwise has lost ground. There are now more than 5,000 seats of Google Enterprise Gmail Worldwide which may not sound earthshattering, but I’ll bet that the Notes and Groupwise have dropped by more than that!

Only Microsoft Exchange is ahead of Google Enterprise Gmail….for now! TRIM may have to come up with a solution to allow for the capture of Google Enterprise Gmail!

SharePoint 2010 and TRIM have combined to form a winning team in major push to reduce paper use at Greater Shepparton City Council

The Victorian council’s Information Management Branch has been rewarded with recognition in Victoria’s 2011 Sir Rupert Hamer Records Management Awards.

Council’s CEO Phil Pearce said the branch was awarded for improved processes and increased use of digital information.

“Staff have worked hard to roll out new processes and practices to the organisation and should be congratulated,” Mr Pearce said.

“The team was required to demonstrate knowledge of legislation and how these can be applied in everyday our everyday work to improve business systems.

West Linn considers partnering with state for electronic records management service

The city of West Linn is considering joining a pilot program with the Secretary of State’s office in the hopes of cutting down on public record maintenance and potential litigation risk.

City councilors heard a proposal during a work session meeting on Monday by the Secretary of State’s archives division, to partner with the state in implementing the use of HP Trim, an electronic records management service.

Under the agreement, the state agency would assist, offer support and train city staff in using the program and the city pays to use the service, which is estimated to be a little more than $44,000 a year.

Intelledox developers have worked extensively with TRIM. Intelledox features an extensible web services suite that allows for seamless integration with document management systems (DMS) such as TRIM. When paired with a DMS, Intelledox provides an end-to-end solution for document creation and storage.

Intelledox has invested in developing a generic integration for TRIM that allows Intelledox to pass metadata and generated documents in various formats to TRIM. During the production process, Intelledox requests a record number from TRIM and dynamically includes it anywhere in the document, including the metadata, header and footer before storing the file.

2011 will see the TRIM User Forum (TUF) turn 24 years old and move back to Canberra where it all began in 1985. The TRIM User Forum continues to be the premier event for TRIM customers in the South Pacific region whilst showcasing HP’s broader Information Management portfolio and solution offerings from our experienced partner community.

TRIM User Forum 2010 set a number of records, with the greatest number of attendees and sponsoring business partners in TUF history. We look forward to continuing the journey.

Currently, many organisations are facing the challenge of balancing legislative and social drivers to provide greater information openness and transparency whilst minimising risk to the organisation.

Are you managing a version of TRIM that’s been happily running for 4 or 5 years, but lost all of your documentation?  Maybe you’re running a version of TRIM Captura and want to access some of the old documentation or read what’s required to upgrade to version 6.x or 6 R2. Chances are, your search for this documentation may be fruitless – until now!  We here at the TRIM User Network have access to some documentation for previous versions of TRIM.  Of course, we’ll upload the latest documentation when it becomes available but we’ll also make the older stuff available.
